During lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many musicians around the world have recorded collaborations from their homes. This sense of community has been a real sanity saver for many in the arts industry, and has brought about a lot of amazing new music.
I wrote this song in the middle of "remote learning" - that is, homeschooling my children. At the moment, a lot of the arts industry are without work, and while that represents a loss of income, even more importantly it represents a loss of self.
Something that we have done for our whole lives and that defines us has been cut off.
I wanted to write a song that promotes keeping upbeat, looking after your mental health, and just having a boogie :)
Musicians from around Australia and the world jumped onboard, and we have come up with a track that I am truly proud of.
All proceeds from this track will go to promote mental health in the arts industry by supporting the Arts Wellbeing Collective.
